This is one of the last 328 GTS models to be supplied to the UK market, it thus benefits from the final specification improvements including the standard fitment of ABS anti-lock brakes, the later wheel design together with a myriad of detail upgrades. It is also one of the finest examples having covered just 5,500 miles in the hands of six owners and remaining in superb, unmarked, completely original condition throughout.
The 328 was ordered when new from Marranello Sales by collector and regular customer, Mr Peter Lloyd, based in Surrey. He specified the Rosso Corsa coachwork and full black leather interior. The car was supplied on the 6th October 1989 and was placed into store before being offered for sale by Bramley Garage in September 1990 with just 69 miles recorded.
The second owner, a Mr Tim Humm, also based in Surrey, purchased the car in October 1990 and sent it straight to Marranello Sales for its first maintenance service. This is confirmed by the service stamp and invoice on file. Mr Humm retained the Ferrari until 2006, at which point it was repurchased by Bramley, with just 973 miles recorded. During Mr Humm’s ownership it was very carefully stored and used minimally only in dry summer weather, two services were completed again by Marranello Sales in 1998 at 383 miles and in 2004 at 496 miles.
Bramley Garage had the Ferrari serviced at main dealer, Meridien Modena, in May 2006, before selling the car to a regular local customer. The following year Bramley repurchased the Ferrari and again had it serviced by Meridien Modena, the mileage now being 1,496 miles.
In July 2007 Bramley sold the car to radio and TV presenter and well-known car enthusiast Mr Chris Evans, as noted on the invoice on file. He retained the car until 2009, at which point it was purchased by a Ferrari enthusiast based in Scotland. Ferrari main dealer Graypaul in Edinburgh serviced the car in July 2009, the service stamp and invoice on file details this work and confirms the mileage at 4,380 miles.
This last owner subsequently moved south to Oxfordshire and hence began to use local Ferrari main dealer Dick Lovett Ferrari for maintenance work. They completed maintenance work in 2011 and 2013 at 5,145 miles and 5,271 miles respectively. Again, stamps and invoices document the work.
In 2013 the Ferrari was offered for sale by Dick Lovett and it was soon purchased by the last owner who wanted the finest example of the model he could find. Correspondence details this sale and indicates the great amount of preparation work completed to ensure the Ferrari was as close to new as possible. The only faults found were entirely related to the degrading of rubber parts as one would expect, due to age not use.
Today the Ferrari remains as close to new as could be possible. It must be one of the finest of its type with just 5,500 miles recorded from new and with a history that illustrates its cosseted life. It comes with all books, keys, a file of invoicing, correspondence and MOT certificates. The car will be serviced and a new MOT test completed prior to delivery.
