1988 ROLLS ROYCE CORNICHE LL CONVERTIBLE

An excellent example of a late Corniche that has clearly been used minimally and very carefully looked after by each of its four owners as it has covered just 36,000 miles and remains in virtually unmarked as new original order with a full service history.

Originally delivered by HR Owen, the London main agent, the car remains faithful to its original specification featuring Ivory coachwork with tan Everflex roof, tan hide, dark brown carpets with matching lamb’s wool rugs and fawn headlining.

In addition, a full anti-theft system was specified along with radio telephone installation, featuring a Pioneer system including graphic equalizer – all remain in place.

The original service book on file indicates first delivery on 19 March 1988 with the registration marque H66. The original owner retained the car until 1992, covering some 20,000 miles. HR Owen, the supplying dealer, maintained the car to schedule with annual stamps in the service book.

The second owner, a resident on the South Coast, kept the car until October 2005 and increased the mileage to 26,000 miles during his ownership. Again, stamps in the service book and invoices on file document the diligent maintenance during this time with RR dealers, Harwoods of Pulborough, and later, by a well-known marque specialist.

In 2005 the Corniche was purchased by a Cornish enthusiast who again looked after the car extremely well whilst using it minimally on fine days only. This family retained the car until 2015 and again invoicing and service stamps show careful maintenance with the mileage rising to 35,000 miles in this time.

The last owner, a collector of only the finest low mileage original cars, purchased the Corniche in 2015 from a respected marque specialist. The car has continued to be enjoyed in fine summer weather only, the mileage increasing to just 36,000 miles as indicated today. Local main dealers HR Owen have been entrusted with maintenance as detailed in service stamps and invoices on file. Along with general servicing, any item requiring attention has been overhauled or replaced as necessary, invoices amounting to in excess of &Pound;6,000 show replacement of steering rack, sorting oil leaks and brake overhaul.

A great example of a Corniche that looks and drives correctly in every way. There really has no apparent wear in any area, indeed it even smells like a new example inside. It comes with all books in the original wallet, all keys, tools and a history file with spec sheet, all MOT certificates, correspondence and maintenance invoices.
