1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante X Pack LHD

One of only nineteen manual examples produced for the European market and without doubt one of the finest having covered just 14,000 km in the hands of two owners, the first keeping the car until 2012. It remains in virtually unmarked original condition and has a full and comprehensive maintenance history with R S Williams.

The original factory order on file confirms the specification as a left hand drive V8 Carburettor Vantage Volante Manual to West German Spec, hence it has the full power of the X Pack model where as many export cars had a lower output for emission reasons. The order confirms the paint finish in British Racing Green with fawn leather piped dark green with beige carpets edged dark green and a dark green hood. A Blaupunkt Bremen Stereo was specified which remains fitted in working order complete with instruction manuals!

The car was supplied to the original owner via Swiss dealer Lucas Huni, as noted in the original service book. This shows date of completion of purchase as the 1 October 1987 and the factory guarantee certificate on file is dated 10 October 1987, indicating delivery.

The first owner was an Englishman residing in Switzerland at this time, hence the left hand drive and Swiss Dealer delivery. He enjoyed the car there during fine summer weather until 1994, covering just 10,000km in these seven years. During this time the car was maintained by Swiss Aston dealers Emil Frey and later Roos Engineering, as confirmed in the stamped service book.

In 1994 this first owner returned to the UK with his Aston. He continued to use the car minimally and only in fine summer weather, at other times it was carefully stored in a dehumidified garage. He retained the car until 2012 at which point it had covered only 13,000 km in total. However, lack of use was never used as an excuse for lack of maintenance, the Aston was sent to celebrated Aston experts R S Williams every year for a full inspection and service as required. The service book stamps confirm this and the work completed is fully detailed with every invoice present in the history file. Any area found requiring attention on inspection was addressed in order that the car always returned from service with a clean bill of health.

In 2012 the Aston was sold to the second and last owner who had known of it for many years, hence the car was not offered on the open market or advertised at this point. This second owner, a collector of note, has always had an eye for the finest low mileage original cars and so the Aston was a natural fit in his private collection.

The Aston has continued to be used minimally in fine conditions and has been correctly stored with R S Williams maintaining the car on an annual basis as before, the last being in October 2017 at 14,228km. Again, invoicing to date documents work carried out.

A great Aston Martin with a perfect specification and in virtually as new condition with only 14,000 km covered in the hands of two owners. The car comes with all original books in the correct wallet, factory order and guarantee, all tools, keys, tonneau cover, and a bespoke history file with all annual invoices from R S Williams, all MOT certificates and correspondence.

The Aston drives beautifully in that tight fluent manner exclusive to fine low mileage well-maintained original cars.
